ONE WAY

ONE WAY

A design celebrating the simplicity of the clean, horizontal lines used in Streamline Moderne.

This style can be seen in some of the architectural and industrial design of America in the 30s – in contrast to the decorative, glamorous, lavish forms found in the trend for Art Deco at that time.

It brought about a new, modest look, free from ostentation, perhaps as a reflection of the harsh economic times. Ornament was replaced with simple lines, rich colours were replaced with white or subdued pastels.
